Description

This is a simple RPG game. To interact with things and proceed through dialogue, press ENTER or Z. To use items placed in your item slot, press SPACE.

This project is an exploration of the universe I've been developing. The controls aren't perfectly intuitive, the characters are cheesy, but I feel I've left a little part of me in the process that I hope to pick up during future projects.

There's no ending, but feel free to explore the puzzles, combat, and dialogue that currently exists.

Disclaimer

I've decided to call this project complete, but there are more than a few problems. In the dragon's lair there's a softlock in the dialogue, and many of the weapons are unbalanced and glitchy. At the very end of the game, upon leaving the underground, there is no further content to explore, which may be confusing at first. Please consider these warnings beforehand so any input you leave will be helpful and relevant.

Credits

Credit goes to Game Endeavor for much of the artwork, as well as Duncan DeBoar for some sprite design. Most music and sounds made by me, some sourced from the Unity Asset Store. The song that plays near the glowing tree is my remix of the song "Undertale". Credit belongs to Toby Fox. If you want credit for any of your assets used in this project, feel free to contact me and I'll add you to this credits section.

Closing

Thanks for checking out my game. Please leave input if you feel so led and suggestions for future projects. God bless, and thanks!

I tried out this game. It was very charming, but I did think it was a little too difficult to run on my system (which typically happens with Unity). Even so, I thought the writing was very captivating. In all its forms. From the intro to the text on signs. The music was very atmospheric and the sounds made for a pleasant mood. I liked playing the game. Beyond that the only other things I could nitpick is the crystals were very unforgiving with their brief and dim light. And I wasn't a fan of using the mouse as well as enter for interactions. I'd prefer one or the other for consistency as a gamer.

I also came across this weird bug. It still let me swing the staff, but it was out of sequence.

Wish I could've played more but I couldn't make sense of the really dark cave, I really super would've wished it was like Undertale, a bit easier to manage.

For sure. I made the mistake in this project of using a third-party inventory system which, as you could tell, was much less convenient than ut's simplistic ui. Thanks for the feedback!

I have a suggestion.

Change the colors of this page to  darker colors.

Feels like i just got flashbanged.

Or invert em. (Black background with white text).

Lol, fair. When I posted this project I hadn't really considered page styling, so I'll probably fix that up real quick.
