Riddles of Gold - New ANSWER sequence, progress report




Uh, I mean... hey guys! DragonSkies writing.

The prototype I currently have posted on the project page (v0.1) is in a stalemate as of right now. No matter how much PRESSing or FOCUSing you do, you'll never be able to come up with an answer for Sir Laevus's riddle (which admittedly isn't even that good). Not only does this screw up gameplay, but it also forces you to listen to his annoying accent for far too long. Even I can't stand it at this point.

If only you could just banish that bothersome knight away to get to the REAL action...

...or can you?

The final action I'll be introducing is the ANSWER action, which is exactly what it says, a way to solve your opponent's riddle! They've had their turn to attack you, now it's your turn to blow them away with a sharp response. The unquestionable authority of a dragon on the mental battlefield can be just as effective as a blast of fire - but far less fatal. You've been playing in disadvantage; now's your chance to take it back!

After the ANSWER action your current enemy is sent away and you progress further into the game. But don't get too comfy; each of your opponents have unique attacks and riddles that get progressively more difficult. Don't let up, because even as a pacifist, your life is on the line.

(if im being honest this is totally inspired by ace attorney lol)


As a side note, I wanted to make a quick overview of the progress I've made since the last prototype! Each change will be brought into the next update.


I'm hoping to have a new update posted by next Tuesday (6/24). Come and help beta test the next take and leave input; feedback is invaluable!
